BIOLOGY WEEK 3 - EVOLUTION

This week we are going to continue our study of biology as we learn about evolution. Please read the instructions, watch the videos, answer the questions, and fill out the Google form by the end of the week.

There will be a Zoom meeting on Thursday at 11am, and you will receive a link to join that in your student email.

Complete the lessons at your own pace and have a great week!
Lesson #1 
First watch Myths and Misconceptions about Evolution video, then watch the CrashCourse video on Natural selection. After watching, answer the following questions in a Google Doc then share it with me or take a picture of your notebook then email it to me ([email protected]):

1. List three (3) of the misconceptions about evolution.
2. What is an adaptation?
3. What is natural selection?

I encourage you to explore this topic on your own. Check out some of the recommended videos on YouTube and explore this topic of evolution. This is of course optional, but this topic of evolution is a pretty big one and there is a lot of interesting information out there...
Lesson #2 
Evolution, simply put is "change over time". Biological evolution is how species change and adapt to their environment and it is how we got all of the diversity of life. After watching, answer the following questions in a Google Doc then share it with me or take a picture of your notebook then email it to me ([email protected]). You can include it with your questions from Lesson #1:

1. Give a detailed definition of evolution.
2. Who is Charles Darwin? What is his significance when it comes to the theory of evolution?
​3. List two (2) examples of evidence for evolution.
